Salah Gate: Salah & Prayer Lock ("the app") helps you keep your prayers: at each prayer time it locks the apps you chose until you tap "I prayed". It is published by Hugo Software. We collect no personal data.
Prayer times without your location
Prayer times are calculated on your phone from the city you choose and the calculation method you pick. The app does not ask for location permission and never reads your GPS position.
Usage access: only on your device, only during prayer time
To know when a locked app is opened, the app uses Android's Usage access. While a prayer lock is active (from the start of the prayer time until you tap "I prayed"), it checks which app is currently on screen. If it is one of the apps you chose, the prayer screen is shown.
- This check happens only on your device and only while a lock is active.
- App usage information is never stored beyond that moment and never sent to us or anyone else.
- The app does not build any history of your app usage.
Your installed apps list
To let you choose which apps to lock, the app reads the list of apps on your phone's home screen. Only the apps you select are remembered, and only on your device.
Display over other apps, alarms and notifications
- Display over other apps is used only to show the prayer screen on top of a locked app.
- Alarms & reminders lets the lock start exactly at prayer time.
- Notifications show the prayer-time reminder and the "I prayed" button. During a lock, Android also shows that the app is running.
What is stored, and where
Your city, settings, chosen apps and your prayer journal (which prayers you marked as prayed or missed, by date) are kept only on your device, in the app's own storage. There is no account, no sign-up and no server of ours that stores your data. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes everything.
No advertising, no analytics
The app contains no advertising SDK, reads no advertising ID, and contains no third-party analytics and no crash-reporting SDK. There is no tracking and no profiling.
Network activity
The app works offline. The only network traffic is Google Play Billing, handled by Google Play services on your device, to show prices and check your subscription. Links to these pages open in your browser.
Subscriptions and payment
Salah Gate Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through Google Play. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never receive or store your payment details. Your subscription status is read from Google Play on your device.
Children
The app is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Deleting your data
All data lives only on your device. Uninstall the app or clear its data in Android Settings to remove everything. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. See the data removal page. Uninstalling does not cancel a subscription; cancel in Google Play > Subscriptions.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
